TrainingFor the past 15 weeks, I have been training differently than I normally do. My work-outs have been purely physical. Push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, running, swimming, etc. After 15 weeks, I can genuinely say: It was not a good training method.
I wanted to try something new. I thought it would help improve my Martial Arts ability, but in reality, I think it took away from my ability. Indeed, I am stronger than before, I can run faster and further than before, but I lost something over the past few weeks. Yesterday, I broke my new training schedule, and practiced how I use to practice in the past. It was a world of difference. There is a spiritual element to training in the martial arts that few people realize. I missed that spiritual, mental training. I immediately felt a difference in my body. It felt….right.
